November 2014

ADTC CEO, Juanita Marry standing beside a pink and purple forklift

When CEO of ADTC, Juanita Marry aka “Marry” what was her motivation for customizing a forklift in “pink & purple” her response was very personal…

“I have a very long solid career in warehousing logistics… as a woman I can’t say that it was easy… but I can say that I made a very solid lucrutive career in the industry and the pink & purple forklift lets every woman know that they can still be a Diva and operate a forklift.”

As a single mom working a full time job… the time in expanding my training skills was limited… ADTC was the perfect fit for my already full schedule. It gave me the training and ceritification I needed to explore a new career in the warehousing industry, and earn a better pay!

Sweet 16 - LogoThe Sweet 16 Project

The Sweet Sixteen After-school Program (SSAP) targets 16 to 24 year old high school students attending one of twelve high schools in Clayton County, Georgia.[1] SSAP’s primary focus is on students who are attending low performing schools[2] and/or alternative schools,[3] who are living at or below the poverty level and who may not be considering college or entering the Armed Forces at the present time. SSAP provides students with an opportunity to receive instruction in academics, while developing their occupational skills in the fields of logistics and warehouse management. Accession Distribution Training Center, Inc. (ADTC) has partnered with the Perry Learning Center and the Clayton County School Board to provide training and career development opportunities for local students in high-demand occupations in industries that need highly trained employees. SSAP is also designed to provide Fortune 500 companies with well-trained employees.

SSAP is a six month after-school program conveniently located on a main transit route in Riverdale, Georgia. MARTA literally stops at ADTC’s front door. For those students who find it difficult to get to ADTC’s campus because they lack the means to obtain transportation, ADTC assists with bus passes. Upon arrival at the warehouse, the student is provided a laptop computer to complete his or her virtual homework while at the ADTC facility. Students also have access to the internet to complete their research papers. For the first hour and a half, the student completes his or her homework. Tutors are available to assist the student, if necessary. Upon completion of their homework, the student undergoes hands-on training in shipping, receiving and inventory management. Before leaving the facility every evening, each student is provided a free dinner.

SSAP’s goal is to increase the graduation rate of students attending low performing schools;reduce the number of individuals and families who are subsisting at or below the poverty level; reduce the unemployment rate among teenagers and young adults; reduce the number of teenager and young adult involvement with the criminal justice system; and increase public safety. We have been presented with a wonderful opportunity to improve the community in which we live and work. We must take advantage of this opportunity.
